Educational information on Responsible Gaming practices, bettor rights and duties, and guidance for preventing risky behaviour

Responsible Gaming Policy

This Policy consolidates the guidelines adopted by the operator authorized by LOTERJ (Rio de Janeiro State Lottery), in compliance with Law No. 14,790/2023, SPA/MF Ordinance No. 1,231/2024 and other applicable regulations, aimed at promoting gambling as safe entertainment and preventing risky behaviour associated with problematic or pathological gambling.

Fundamental Principles

We adopt internationally recognized principles for Responsible Gaming, including:

  • Protection: prioritizing the health, dignity and safety of the bettor, with special attention to vulnerable groups;
  • Prevention: implementation of control mechanisms, self-limits, self-exclusion and preventive alerts;
  • Transparency: clear, objective and accessible communication about risks, probabilities and available tools;
  • Autonomy: preservation of the bettor's freedom of choice, with effective self-control instruments;
  • Monitoring: identification of risk patterns and adoption of proactive guidance and protection measures;
  • Compliance: observance of LOTERJ, SPA/MF and other competent authority requirements.

Objective

The objective of this Policy is to prevent and mitigate individual and collective harm arising from the commercial operation of fixed-odds betting, promoting public health, protection of minors and vulnerable groups, reducing the incidence of problematic gambling, increasing the level of information provided to bettors, and making a support network available to those who show risky behaviour.

Our Commitment

We reaffirm our commitment to promoting Responsible Gaming, protecting users — especially vulnerable audiences — and adopting effective measures for prevention, detection and treatment of risky behaviour related to gambling. We recognize that gambling should be viewed exclusively as entertainment, and not as a source of income or financial solution.

We are committed to maintaining accessible customer service channels, control tools on the platform, continuous training of employees and partners, educational campaigns, and partnerships with entities specialized in treating gambling-related disorders.

Educational Information

We provide educational information on Responsible Gaming practices, including:

  • Characteristics of problematic gambling and pathological gambling (ludopathy);
  • Warning signs of risky behaviour;
  • Guidance for conscious and balanced gambling;
  • Description of self-limit, break and self-exclusion tools;
  • Information on probabilities, game rules and associated risks;
  • Support and specialized treatment channels;
  • Risk self-assessment to identify problematic behaviour early.

Recommendations for responsible gambling:

  • Gamble for entertainment, not as a way to make money;
  • Set clear time and spending limits and do not exceed them;
  • Do not try to recover losses with new bets;
  • Do not use funds intended for essential expenses;
  • Take regular breaks and monitor your behaviour;
  • Seek help if gambling stops being enjoyable or causes harm.

Intervention Guidelines

We implement structured intervention guidelines to identify, prevent and refer bettors with risky behaviour, as described below.

Research

We support and encourage scientific research on Responsible Gaming, gambling-related disorders and the social impacts of the activity. We seek partnerships with institutes, universities and research programmes to deepen understanding of prevention, detection and treatment of problematic behaviour, contributing to continuous improvement of adopted practices.

Employee programme

We maintain a continuous and mandatory training programme on Responsible Gaming for administrators, employees and service providers who have contact with bettors. The programme covers applicable legislation, identification of signs of ludopathy, protection tools, monitoring procedures, referral of sensitive cases and confidentiality duties. Training is provided during onboarding and in periodic refresher cycles.

Affiliate programme

Commercial partners, affiliates and service providers linked to the operation must observe the guidelines of this Policy, refraining from practices that induce excessive gambling or target prohibited audiences. Training on Responsible Gaming, compliance with advertising rules and reporting of risky situations identified in bettor relationship channels are required.

Game design

Game products are developed and offered in a way that respects principles of transparency, fairness and consumer protection. Rules, mechanics, probabilities and prize conditions are presented clearly and accessibly. We avoid design features that induce impulsive decisions or minimize the bettor's perception of risk.

Remote Gaming Channels

On digital channels (website, app and other remote means), we provide easily accessible Responsible Gaming tools, including deposit, bet and loss limits; session time alerts; transaction history; break periods; specific self-exclusion and guidance on the Federal Government's centralized self-exclusion. We implement controls to prevent access by minors under 18, self-excluded persons and other legally prohibited groups.

Advertising and Marketing

All advertising communication complies with Law No. 14,790/2023, SPA/MF Ordinance No. 1,231/2024, CONAR Annex X and other applicable regulations. Advertising directed at minors, vulnerable groups and self-excluded users is prohibited. Materials contain prominent Responsible Gaming warnings such as "Gamble responsibly" and "Betting is not an investment." We do not encourage gambling as an alternative to work or a solution to financial problems.

Customer information

We provide clear and complete information on game characteristics, rules, probabilities, control tools, bettor rights and duties, self-exclusion procedures and customer service channels. Information is available on this page, in the user's logged-in area and through support channels, in accessible and easy-to-understand language.

Treatment referral

When we identify or are informed of risky behaviour, we guide the bettor and, where applicable, their family members, to specialized support and treatment services. We recommend seeking professional help whenever there are signs of loss of control over gambling.

Stakeholder Engagement

We work together with stakeholders — including regulatory bodies (LOTERJ and SPA/MF), governmental and non-governmental entities, researchers, health professionals and civil society — to share information, develop research and promote Responsible Gaming. We seek to participate in sector initiatives and maintain transparent dialogue with competent authorities.

Reports and measurements

We monitor and measure the effectiveness of Responsible Gaming actions through internal indicators and periodic reports, including: use of self-limit and self-exclusion tools; volume of related customer service; training results; complaints and referrals; and regulatory compliance. Reports guide continuous improvements to the Policy and operational procedures.
